Dr Andrew Perry CEng FIMMM is a Member of the Henry Royce Institute’s Strategic Advisory Board. He is also a member of Royce’s Nuclear Materials Steering Group and is based at Rolls Royce.
Andy is a Nuclear Core Materials Specialist for Manufacturing at Rolls Royce Submarines.
After completing a PhD in piezoelectric ceramics at the University of Bath, Andrew spent over five years at AWE as a plutonium metallurgist conducting R&D and ageing studies.
Andy moved to Rolls Royce Submarines in 2008 and has held a number of core design and manufacture management and technical roles for current and future class reactor cores for the Royal Navy’s fleet of nuclear submarines.
Andy’s current focus is securing materials selection and methods of manufacture for future submarine nuclear reactor designs.
